Modern Masters crackle products

Kathy Carroll recently returned from California with the Modern Masters crackle products on her mind. "Modern Masters has two great products that produce a consistent antique finish, both on latex paint and other painted surfaces," Kathy says.

The China Crackle produces a fine crackle finish similar to an antique cracked oil finish, as shown on the left. China Crackle gives you a consistent, clear finely cracked finish each time.

There are three products in the application -- a base coat, a top coat and the enhancers which are available in dark and light. This gives you the ability to control how much you reveal the cracks as you rub the enhancers over the finished surface.

This product can be used on any painted surface such as furniture, woodwork, trim, lamps and accessories.

The Crackle for Latex Paint produces a much larger crackle, and can be combined with Modern Masters Metallic Paints to produce a dramatic, shimmering cracked effect.

The sample shown at right was created in the studio using two layers of latex paint, with the crackle coat between, giving a glimpse of the base coat through the top coat.

Modern Masters Venetian Plaster is another product which can be cracked using this product.

Clean up for both the China Crackle and the Crackle for Latex Paint is easy with just soap and water.

Modern Masters donates over $3,500 in product

Students at the Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes will benefit from a generous donation of over $3,500 in Modern Masters products. Among the products donated are Shimmerstone, a variety of colors from Modern Masters' Metallic Paint collection, Metal Effects, Crackle for Latex Paint, and China Crackle.
