One of the most unusual classes -- now offered in the US by Instructor Judy Arnold of Faux Depot Inc., the owner of StripFX®.

Normally Judy teaches StripFX®  with other plasters. But StripFX®  does so many unusual things that it is now necessary to feature StripFX®  as the star product in a technique class. This will be the first class in the US offering a full and comprehensive class “about” and “with” StripFX® .

The class will cover all of the current techniques using StripFX® . This class will teach you how to carve StripFX® , create finishes that you could only do with a plaster if the open time was unusually long – and we mean really long! Mold leaves, produce the most believable leather – the current rage with this product and so “in’ now as a finish. How to age and distress stonework, never so easy -- and all of these looks with ONE coat of plaster.

A section of the class will deal with mixed media, StripFX®  and other acrylic plasters, exploring how they can inter-react and layer to create unique European style looks or cracked plaster. Learn how to have the ‘peeled away wall’ look with the ease of creating some of your plaster installation off-site .Use some interesting additives that you can mix into StripFX®  for varied creative looks and reactions.

StripFX®  removes similar to wallpaper using the same removal principals – just add water back, the plaster reactivates and becomes removable. This will be demonstrated many times in the class – we do want you to understand how to remove it!

OPTIONAL DAY 3: This class has an optional 3rd day. (You do have to exercise this option at the time of registration.) On this day we will see if the acrylic plasters you usually use will suddenly become removable if we use StripFX®  as an underlay underneath.

Market the plaster finish with the ability to remove the finish once it becomes outdated! We offer this as part of a class so you can test for yourself the removeability using what you love to use and what you always sell…or don’t sell…. as everyone worries about what to do about it later when they want to change. Backfilling or drywall was the only option up to now (especially with cracked plaster) and sometimes the client’s interest in an installation would grind to a halt after that realization!

On this optional day you can bring as many as 3 different acrylic plaster products along with any ancillary coloring or sealing products you would like to use. We will assist you in preparing a finish and then test to see if it is removable! Ensure you have the manufacturers instructions and cure times with you.
