Understanding how to work with color is sadly lacking in most finishers’ training. Painters are taught to blame the paint store for bad colors. Most art schools ignore the beautiful varieties of earth colors so the artist is at a loss when confronted with a seemingly dull but quite useful pigment.
Very little is written for the decorative finisher who has to work with broad areas of color instead of concentrated patches.
Understanding how to adjust color in paint or glazes is key and Dean’s goal is to show that there is no mystery to color, just certain tricks you can use to control it.
This course is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence you'll need to assist your clients in enhancing their color environment.
All workshop materials are furnished. You will leave with a manual that not only helps you to reproduce the finishes you have created at the Institute, but it will become a life-long resource. It is our firm belief that your success is our success.
